The NHS is the biggest and best healthcare institution in the world. Unlike other developed nations, Britain's NHS provides FREE advanced universal healthcare for all. But it has struggled with under-funding over recent decades ... and now it's amazing staff face their biggest challenge ever. With the support of brilliant British biotech / engineering companies and world leading research labs, the NHS will get us through this pandemic ... as long as we all do our bit!

The people of the UK are possibly the BEST in the world.
At some things.
They will hold their government to account, but maintain personal and public discipline. They take responsibility. They support one another. If they must stay at home in social isolation, so be it. They will be saving the lives of their loved ones and the vulnerable.  They are brilliantly inventive: with limited resources they will find amazing answers to the most difficult problems.

COVID-19: SYMPTOMS


COMMON: fever and persistent cough

This is a respiratory virus ... so when things get bad, you will start to get a bit breathless, often with light exercise. If you start to have breathing trouble, DIAL 111 or your on-call GP.
Illness with confusion in the elderly is an important sign.
Loss of smell is an interesting symptom but not serious.

SUPPORT THE NHS!

The NHS needs us all to maintain social distancing for now.
NHS clinical & support staff need a lot of Government directed help.
They need timely testing (both antigen and antibody tests as per an accepted protocol, which could include weekly antibody tests plus daily temperature checks).
They need more help with childcare (often both parents are NHS staff).
They need plentiful supplies of optimal PPE.
They should be offered medical countermeasures (chloroquine).

In early 2020 we campaigned for NHS/PHE to offer chloroquine to ALL front-line clinical/support NHS staff within a properly conduted RCT (trial). With arrival of effective vaccines in 2021 the need for such a trial receeded. But Omicron may yet change that ...

They need timely antigen & antibody tests.
They need enhanced support @ childcare.
The time is right to launch a nationwide prophylaxis & treatment trial for all eligible NHS front-line staff.
